Baby Shower games can be a bit predictable and boring. To add some excitement, play baby shower mad libs and have your guests laughing until it hurts. If you are short on time, but want a fun game, you can get a book of baby shower mad libs at many retailers. It adds a more personal touch, however, if you create your own. You can even copy extra of these for all the guests and let them take their favorites, as well as give some to the mother to be. It is also entertaining to make a race of it by splitting the guests into two teams and having the team with the best responses win a prize.
Making your own mad libs is fun and easy. Write a funny story about the mother and father having the baby, maybe a scenario in the hospital, or the first days home, and leave blanks for filling in nouns, pronouns, adjectives, or verbs. Get several copies of these and have guests fill them out while they’re eating and chatting. Another way to go is by making a few short ones and pass them around the room, having everyone fill in a different blank. You can make one with examples for the guests to see and get ideas from, too. Have everyone read theirs aloud afterwards for a good laugh.
