Excellent Etiquette For Your Baby Shower!
Baby showers require lots of planning and preparation, but are you doing everything correctly? There is expected baby shower etiquette for the host and guests of baby showers. Go with these tips for excellent etiquette and your shower will go smoothly! First, the host should be someone other than the mother-to-be. It can be a church group, friend, co-worker, or sometimes even the mother or sister.
Have it at a house or rent out a small space if necessary, just be sure they have proper accommodations for cooking, or if you can transport the food there. For the invite list, check with the mother-to-be about who has to be there and their address, phone and email. Traditional invitations are written and mailed, but email is very acceptable as well. Websites have ecards you can send, or a nice email with cute baby graphics will do.
If some guests do not have email, phone calls will work, and with all invitations include an RSVP and registry information if the mother-to-be is registered. Send these out one to two months in advance, and be sure the mother-to-be is registered before that. Favors are not required, but they are a nice thank you touch.
For guest etiquette, always RSVP on time and try and stick with registry gifts and if they want to give something special, have it be extra. If you are close with the mother-to-be and cannot attend, sending a present is a nice gesture.
